Are you a skilled Laboratory Technologist looking for an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a community-focused healthcare environment? Join our team at Sacred Heart Healthcare Centre, where we provide high-quality lab services to residents of McLennan and surrounding areas. We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technologist CLXT or MLT to join our dedicated team. This role is initially offered at 0.5 FTE with the opportunity to pick up additional hours, up to full-time, based on operational needs and your availability. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Description:
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:As Required.
Preferred Qualifications:Phlebotomy and ECG knowledge. Experience with Vitros XT, Sysmex XN, Triage Meter, iSTAT & ACL Elite Pro.
