Your Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technologist - CLXT or MLT to join our High Prairie team. This role is initially offered at 0.7 FTE with the opportunity to pick up additional hours, up to full-time, based on operational needs and your availability. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Description:

As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

As required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Phlebotomy and ECG knowledge. Experience with Vitros XT, Sysmex XN, Triage Meter, iSTAT & ACL Elite Pro.
