Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of one year full time equivalent employment in the GSICU or Burn Unit post OPACCA completion is required in order to be considered for casual status within the Critical Care program. Recent completion of a recognized Critical Care course with one year FTE of adult critical care experience in a comparable GSICU or Burn Unit may be considered for casual status. Candidates must display excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and have the ability to critically think. Candidates must have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Leadership skills and proven mentorship skills are a must. Candidates must display the ability to identify their own learning needs, seek guidance in professional practice when deficits occur, and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional growth and development. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to providing quality patient and family centered care within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Certifications, training or experience with the following are preferred: ACLS, TNCC, CNA Critical Care Certification, IHD, CRRT, Code Team, MET, Clinical Resource Team, and charge nurse experience. As well as PEARS, PALS, Level One Sharp Debridement and the Advance Burn Care designation.
