Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

2 years acute care Medical /Surgical experience and or ICU experience. You will also be required to successfully complete the AHS Critical Care Orientation Program (OPACCA). OPACCA is a 4 week theory training and orientation program facilitated in a classroom setting followed by 10 -12 buddy shifts on the Unit. Candidate must achieve a grade of 75% or higher to continue to the clinical assessment. Basic computer skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Demonstrated responsibility in maintaining own continuing competence and willingness to learn new skills through Professional Development. ACLS certification would be considered an asset, however training will be provided to the ideal candidate. Ability to work shifts and meet the physical requirement of the job.

Preferred Qualifications:

ICU experience, CACCN certification, Baccalaureate degree is preferred, however skills and experience relevant to nursing practice will be considered.
