Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a correctional environment, an acute care facility or psychiatric program. Must have excellent assessment, critical thinking, organization, and patient care skills. Must be self-directed and have the ability to work independently and using sound professional judgment. Must be able to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Physical demands include: prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing, walking, lifting, pushing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and/or transferring patients. Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision. Attention to detail in the application, including a cover letter stating the reasons Corrections Nursing has been chosen.
