Required Qualifications:

Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Assist patients with personal care including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and recreation. Support a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Observe and report changes in patients’ mood, health, and overall condition. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the health care team. Work collaboratively with nurses and other health professionals to support patient care plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

Participate in quality initiatives to improve patient care, support ongoing quality improvement efforts, and enhance patient flow. Assist with patient mobilization, including safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning. Provide oral care and hygiene support as part of daily routines. Deliver care to bariatric patients with attention to safety, dignity, and comfort. Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care to patients from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
